Going Veggie is smart and easy to do

One of the best ways to stay healthy, is to reduce your intake of fast foods, junk foods and processed foods and replace them with healthy plant based choices instead. A well rounded plant based diet, is packed with all of the nutrition you need for your busy life.

By including more plant based foods in our diets and reducing our reliance on animals for our food, we keep many of the harmful fats, preservatives and chemicals contained in those foods out of our bodies. At the same time, by reducing our reliance on animals for food, we reduce the amount of animal waste which enters into rivers and streams.

When we switch to a plant based diet, we have opportunities to explore new, healthier foods and expand our culinary skills. Plant foods also digest more easily than animal foods do and in far less time. Additionally, by choosing plant foods, we are helping to change the world’s food supply to a more sustainable one for future generations.

Getting started

Healthy reminders

Take your time adjusting a veggie diet. Allow your body time to accept the many new foods you will be consuming.

Choose from a wide variety of plant foods, which includes whole grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and healthy snack foods. Organic foods and non-gmo foods are preferred.

If you want to enjoy treats, snacks or desserts, find the healthiest and best quality available or make them at home. Consume them in moderation. Treats should account for a small portion of your total food intake.

Eliminate foods and beverages which are loaded with sugar, contain chemicals, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors.

Eliminate or cut down on caffeinated beverages.

Choose water, mineral water and non-caffeinated teas, as your beverage choices. Water down very sugary drinks, if you do consume them.
